roll call writing
M.K. Draper

I’m almost certain that this writing topic is meant to deal with the killing of characters like J.K. Rowling in her seven Harry Potter tomes when she knocked off some of our favorites. I do not have characters to kill so I am writing about editing.
This roll call exercise has certainly made the 150-word limit easier after years of narrowing first drafts.
I imagine words on the floor like film editing at least back in the day when.
So, I look down at the floor where there might be wads of paper as well as words, snipped by scissors and they curl and grimace in their dying as they look pitifully up at me.
“I’m sorry, I tell them. It isn’t personal, you may well live on in another piece of writing but until then…bye, bye!”
