The Roll Call topic for December was pretend to be a Christmas Tree. Cathy Thorp was our winner. Here is her piece.
The Christmas Tree
Cathy Thorp
I’m moving. It must be time for me to be taken down to the living room. It’s been a long year up here in this attic. I wonder if there will be any new things downstairs.
Ahh…my branches are spreading out. It’s time to check the lights. Here we go. One. Two. Three. Voila! We have bright sparkles strung throughout my branches. So far, so good.
The young ones are taller this year. The boy can almost reach my top.
They’re opening the box of ornaments. I remember most of them. There are the ones that were made in Sunday School, and the special ones close to 70 years old. There are many beautiful baubles, a variety of colors. It’s a privilege to cheer up this household.
This is new. It has four feet and fuzzy fur. It’s pulling on my branch. Now, it’s climbing me. Uh oh.
